Chapter 2

"I.. uhh.. Don't know." He admitted. He could notice the sun was setting, off in the distance. The sun sets in the west, and rises in the east, right? And our home is in the west.. I think? Well.. If our house is in the west.. Then we just need to keep going on.
"Tucker?" Pumpkin, yet again, broke into his thoughts. "Why you keep dozing off?" He mewed. "Starting to freak me out…"
Tucker rolled his eyes. "Just keep moving forward, and we'll get to our house sooner or lat-" He was interrupted by his stomach, growling. Pumpkin jumped.
"What was that?!" He hissed, freaked out.
"My stomach, idiot. I'm starving." Tucker sniffed the air. Nothing. Except… what.. What is that? It smells horrible! Tucker crinkled up his nose and let out a hiss. "Can you smell that?" He cringed from the smell.
"What is that smell?" Pumpkin meowed. "It smells… DELISCIOUS!" Pumpkin exclaimed and ran toward the smell. Tucker was frozen. How could he want to eat that, whatever it is? Ugh. I'll never understand him. Tucker thought to himself as he padded toward the scent, trying not to smell.
"Tucker!" Pumpkin exclaimed from inside a garbage can, his tail sticking out. "Look at what I found!" He popped out, a full chicken breast in his mouth. "Isn't it amazing?" He meowed happily, about to take a bite.
"Wait!" Tucker hissed. Pumpkin froze. "If we're going to eat that," He pointed to the delicious looking chicken, that ever he could not wait to chow down on. "can we at least eat it away from that smell?" He tried to plug his nose.
"…Alright." Pumpkin said, noticing how Tucker hated the scent. "C'mon," He meowed to Tucker as he passed by.
"H-Hey w-wait up!" Tucker said, taking in the beautiful scent of the chicken. Ugh, how could he like that smell? Well.. Tucker thought he did find the chicken.. Maybe he didn't smell the actual garbage, but the chicken only. He must have great scent if he can do that. But… if he could smell the chicken.. Why couldn't he smell that scent back there? Tucker remembered the smell he had scented back at the beginning of the forest.
"How 'bout here, Tuck?" Pumpkin said, in a small clearing. "Looks safe enough." he said, moving forward. Suddenly, Tucker scented something. What is that? It's… Fox? He suddenly shrieked at Pumpkin.
"Pumpkin! Watch out!" He yelled as he barged through to his friend, pushing him out of the way. Right when Tucker leaped on Pumpkin, a iron wire flung out, reaching for Pumpkin's neck. Thankfully, it missed.
"What was that for?" Pumpkin hissed miserably. "Now what are we going to do? You already set off the trap." Pumpkin had acted like he knew it was going to happen.
"W-What? But I just saved your life! You should be thankful that fox trap didn't get you!" Tucker hissed furiously.
"I knew that trap was coming, I scented it when we first came. I was going to make the trap tie around the chicken so no one else could get it if we decided to sleep here."
"Well by the time we went to sleep the chicken would be gone." Tucker said, calming down. "Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean-"
"It's alright. Sorry for worrying you." Pumpkin said, getting up. He picked up the chicken and put it in the center of the clearing. "Dig in!" He exclaimed, pretty much diving into the chicken.
Tucker's amber eyes gleamed. "Hey!" He hissed playfully "Don't eat it all you pig!" Tucker dove in too, cowing down as much as he could fit into his stomach. But something kept his hunger back, something that he couldn't put aside. His stomach kept growling, so he kept eating.
"Ugghhh.." Pumpkin moaned, laying on his back. "I think I ate too much…" He burped. Tucker and him laughed. That feeling that Tucker had hadn't left yet, it was still lingering around inside of his head. He had followed the sunset, so then why hadn't he gotten home yet? Home. He thought.
Will we ever get back home?
Yup
